They say they’re “man’s best friend.” However, since I am a lady, I must say they are “human’s best friend.”
The guy above has been in my life for 11 years and what a treasure all the years have been! The bond one shares with their canine companion is comparable to none. Always there to greet you excitedly at the door, brightening up a long, stressful day at work. Willing to protect you with a bark (or many) and a rush to the door when the doorbell sounds. Soon to realize it is not an intruder but rather a familiar face with some love to share!
The trust they put in us to feed them, love them and care for them, all while unable to communicate effectively with them. Fully trusting and also trustworthy.
I am truly amazed by animals whom are rescued from adoption agencies or pounds. The strength they must possess in order to love and trust again. My experience watching loved ones adopt canines have been some of the most fascinating journeys to witness. Adopted canines seem to love and trust harder, build bonds stronger and truly embrace life fuller than ever imaginable.
The resilience humans and animals share after being hurt and abandoned simply amazes me. Finding strength when weak is something we all possess; man, canine, elephant…we are all God’s creatures.
