about

final picElephant Aura Life is an anonymous lifestyle blog based in the midwest.  From animals, beauty, faith, fashion, food, relationships and travel, this blog is sure to offer a little about a lot!

My intention is for blogging to be a creative outlet while my husband and I are both attending graduate school.  At times I think it may be a bit much to take on one more task, but creativity can be very therapeutic and grounding.  Something to slow me down, allowing me to enjoy this hectic life pace sounds not only beneficial but essential.

I have always been one to succeed best when verbalizing out loud their goals and intentions.  So you my friends, can help hold me accountable!  My goal is to post on a Monday, Wednesday, Friday schedule.  My posts will vary in topic as I want this to be authentic, raw, applicable and relatable to people riding this crazy roller coaster we call life.  I am an average, midwest, “girl next door” (at what point am I considered a lady and not a girl?!) who is still learning how to be a be kid in this crazy big world we live in.  I’ve been married for 3 years and am still learning how to be a wife and best friend to my amazing husband whom loves me, flaws and all.  We both are on a journey of strengthening our faith and learning to trust God in all aspects of our life.

So, where did the blog name come from?

Elephants have always intrigued me.  From the graceful way they sway their bodies while in motion, to their kind eye that carries so much emotion.  Elephants are said to have advanced sensitivity and social connection, determination and loyalty.  Symbolically, the elephant represents stability, honor, strength, luck, patience, pride, longevity, pride, happiness.

Throughout my life, I have felt a connection with elephants and how they are able to experience emotions and yet find strength to continue on.  In researching rescued elephants, I am amazed at how once abused by humans, they often are somehow able to find strength to trust again.  Perhaps this similarity to man kind is what allows the reconnection?

I believe that everyone has a little “Elephant Aura” in their life, as sensitivity, loyalty, determination and social connection are what make us human.  We may feel weak, vulnerable and untrusting of others at times, but we must focus on our strength, pride, honor and determination to seek happiness in the world.

Come along as do my best to lead an “Elephant Aura Life!”
